Social Media Podcast
No prizes for guessing this: The Social Media Podcast is, yes, a podcast about social media.
(Think of a podcast as a little like a recorded radio show that you can listen to at your convenience)
The podcast takes a fairly light hearted view of goings on within social media including all the main stream social media platforms. Conversation often covers the latest in gadgets and apps, as well as providing commentary on issues such as the Digital Economy Act.
It’s the brainchild of Gordon White and Kyle Murdoch of fatBuzz, based just down the road in Glasgow. Podcasts and online video are two areas that Gordon and Kyle’s business has been well ahead of the curve on, not just by Scottish, but by global standards.
The podcast regularly includes guests of which our very own Tim Barlow is one. Tim provides insight into search marketing issues, usually in response to questions from listeners.
Other guests include Iain Murray of ConnectedFM (the FM = facilities management (Iain maybe we should talk SEO sometime!). Iain is a self-confessed gadget addict and is blazing a trail by putting social media at the very forefront of his business (which it is fair to say operates in a pretty traditional industry).
Legal expertise is provided by Valerie Surgenor, IT Lawyer with MacRoberts in Glasgow. This isn’t legal expertise in the “you can’t say that – Have I Got News For You” style format, though I suspect the podcast could probably do with it. This is about providing a legal perspective to the development of Social Media and online marketing.
