February may have been a fabulously short month, but that doesn’t mean that it was in any way short of lovely things – pancakes and Valentines Day to name but two. And just because it was short it was still full of numbers and stats goodies, so read on!
Twitter have unveiled an infographic revealing that 80% of its 10 million users in the UK access it using mobile. In fact, mobile users are also 40% more likely than the average user to access Twitter more than once a day – engaging in the moment and what is effecting them then and there.
The Guardian online claimed 77.9 million unique users in January , a new record for them and an increase of 23 percent year-on-year. They put it largely down to the use of multimedia content; their video content recorded over 11.3 million views worldwide.
Almost 1 in 3 people use a PC over mobile shopping as they do not trust the security on smartphones and tablets for mobile shopping. It showed that a quarter of consumers will research on their mobile device first and purchase later on a PC.
Smartphones, tablets and games consoles accounted for 12% of on all online ad viewing in Q4 of 2012, which is an increase of only 2% compared to the previous year; however, online video viewing increased by 23% overall.
This is the estimated value of Facebook which is greater than the combined value of the following: Twitter, Workday, Dropbox, Groupon, Square, HomeAway, Spotify, Zynga, Airbnb, Box, Evernote, and Instagram!
The average app has less than a 5% chance of being used for more than 30 days. Every day hundreds of new apps are launched and there are well over a million in circulation, but due to this, their lifespan has significantly decreased. Only around 20% of users return to the an app the first day after they downloaded it.
Linkedin hit a new milestone and reached 200 million members with 11 million of these in the UK. Barack Obama had the most viewed profile of 2012 with 526,270 people checking out what The President has been up to.
This is the number of top brands that are now active on Instagram. The site and app now have 90 million active users, 40 million photos per day and 8,500 likes per second. Instagram has grown by 9% since the last quarter and Pinterest by 10%, however, brands adopting Google+ have only grown by 4%.
Another Instagram fact – this is the number of people that use Instagram each month. Used all over the globe they have hit this in 2 and a half years.
Shoppers who view video are this huge percent more likely to purchase than viewers who did not. Nearly 40% of consumers report an increase in their likelihood in making a purchase on a mobile device after seeing a video.
