#EdCMBE: Beer, Chilli & an Attacat Mug…

It will go down in history as one of the most important gatherings of marketeers, techies and general creative types Edinburgh has seen!

The Attacats were out in force for the Edinburgh Coffee Morning Beer Evening (EdCMBE) at the Stills Gallery on Cockburn Street. Attacats Ben, Hannah and David had a very enjoyable few hours in the company of friends and colleagues.

Chilli provided by Illegal Jacks (spicy!) and drink provided by Stewart Brewing were gratefully accepted. There was also a closely fought bake-off with an array of fab cupcakes just begging to be eaten. The eventual and well deserved winner was Juliet Wilson, whom I had barely seen for 2 years since she married me.

It was great to see so many people connected by the creative industries together sharing ideas. We got to make loads of exciting new contacts and catch up with Twitter peeps in person.

It was good to meet and talk to the likes of @allanbarr, @vgibson. @macfack, @electroross and tons more – our twitter accounts are all a lot fuller this morning!

The fantastic thing about events like these is that they give us the opportunity to share ideas and keep up to speed with current thinking.

Without a doubt the highlight of the evening was the long awaited and much discussed raffle. Unfortunately the Attacats were unsuccessful but it is better to give than receive and we had a last minute conference call and decided to double our donation of Attacat mugs! Not 1 but 2!

I was secretly hoping my name would be pulled out of the hat but alas, the mugs went to 2 very deserving attendees, Baxter Tocher and Laura McGregor.

We managed to capture the moment of Baxter’s victory on video, a bit like Spain’s Iker Casillas holding the World Cup.

By all accounts the evening went on for several hours after we had to throw in the towel but in the end it was all for a good cause with over £600 being raised for The Sick Kids.

Here’s to the next EdCMBE!
